Kimberly R Lundgren age 51, of Beverly, MA passed away from a sudden illness on February 26, 2015. Kim was born and raised in South Weymouth. She graduated from Bates College then received her Master’s Degree in English from the University of Virginia. After graduate school Kim returned to the northeast and settled in Gloucester to start a career and family.
For the past three and half years Kim was the Director of Development at North Shore Community Action Program (NSCAP), Kim was fiercely committed to supporting agency programs that improve the lives of low-income families and individuals served by NSCAP. Previously, Kim worked in a similar role at the Salem Harbor Community Development Corporation. Before that, Kim worked as a freelance writer and as Editorial Director at Lapham/Miller in Andover, MA. Kim actively participated in many volunteer and community projects.
Kim’s three children, Sage, Lila and Toby were the passion of her life and she completely dedicated her life to theirs. Kim also loved books and literature, music, movies, walking in the woods and on beaches, yoga and specifically sharing these activities with family and friends.
Throughout her entire life Kim relished spending summer vacations at the family cottage in Wareham, MA, playing on the beach, laughing with family and friends and enjoying the beauty of Wareham Bay.
Kim was loved and adored by all who had the opportunity to share her life. Her compassion, devotion, sense of humor and grace will be profoundly missed.
Kim is survived by her three wonderful children Sage, Lila, and Toby Frankenstein, her husband Bill Frankenstein, and is the cherished sister to Kenny Lundgren, Kevin Lundgren, and Kristine Brugger and daughter to Janet E. McCorrison and Alfred Lundgren. Kim is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and co-workers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Kim on Thursday March 5, 2015 from 12-2 PM at C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant Street, (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2PM in the funeral home.
A Celebration of Kim’s Life will be held on Saturday March 7th at noon at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club, 134 McKay Street, Beverly, MA with a reception immediately to follow.
