Obituary

Ralph R. Macomber, Jr., 84, of Westport passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marion J. (Perry) Macomber, they were married for 60 years.
Born in Dartmouth, he was son of the late Ralph R. and Elmyra (Taylor) Macomber. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, Mr. Macomber was a commercial spray painter for Hoyt Manufacturing and C.P. Bourg. A left-handed bowler, he bowled for many years in leagues at Westport Lanes. He enjoyed the outdoors, clocks and blue grass music, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and his dog Sable.
Including his wife, survivors include 3 sons: Michael Macomber of RI, David Macomber of Westport and Andrew Macomber and his wife Amy of MD; 6 grandchildren: Andrew, Jacob and Zachary Macomber and Kelly, Sarah and Julia Dwyer; a son-in-law: Bob Dwyer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Laurie Dwyer and brother of the late Cora Martin and Thelma Hunt.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
