Macungie, PA - Barbara G. (Doe) Poole, 94, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Macungie, Pennsylvania. She leaves daughter-in-law, Joyce Provencher, grandchildren Robin Powers, Dawn Johnson, William Poole, Joseph Poole and Crystal Poole, all of the Worcester area as well as nephew Dr. Lawrence Doe and his wife, Patricia, of Annapolis MD, and nieces Deborah Doe of Bristol NH, and Sally Urban of Emmaus, Pa. She also leaves 3 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 great nephews, one great niece, 3 great-great nephews and 1 great-great niece. She was predeceased by her husband George Poole, step-son Dale Poole, step-daughter Sylvia Altman, and brother Snowman W. Doe.
Barbara was born in Lewiston, ME, daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys (Sprague) Doe. She graduated from Worcester's North High School in 1939 and the Worcester School of Business Science. She worked as an office manager at the former People's Church Nursing Home. Barbara was a member of Greendale People's Church in Worcester and its Proto 4 Club. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and cooking.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 10:00-11:30 am in Greendale People's Church 25 Francis Street Worcester, MA. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am in the church. Barbara will be buried in the Doe plot in Maine at a later date. Nordgren Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greendale People's Church.
