Obituary

Kelly C. Johnson
The sunshine in the lives of her family and friends.

Kelly Catherine Johnson, age 18, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, after losing her struggle with Substance Use Disorder. If we do not speak out and shine a light on this disease, the status quo will continue, more young adults will die and people will continue to grieve in silence.

Kelly's final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched throughout her short but memorable life. Kelly was a compassionate, loving, and selfless young lady. She was intelligent, funny, and full of life and promise. Those whom she touched understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

With Kelly's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated.
Although we will miss her every day, she will forever remain in our hearts.

Kelly was raised in Andover, attended Andover schools and was current member of the Class of 2015 at the North Shore Recovery High School in Beverly. She was planning to attend college in the fall.

Her big brown eyes, beautiful smile and contagious laughter could light up any room. Kelly loved music, soccer and spending time with her amazing friends.
She was always the first person to lend a helping hand to a family member, friend, or anyone in need. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

In addition to her parents, William P. and Gail M. (Furey) Johnson, she is survived by two loving sisters, Nicole M. and Meagan E. Johnson; her maternal grandparents, John T. and Gloria M. Furey; her paternal grandparents, John R. Johnson and Loretta L. Davis. Kelly also leaves many wonderful and loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend A Funeral Mass Celebrating Kelly's Life on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 12 Noon, at St. Augustine's Church, 43 Essex St., Andover. Interment to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover. At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours or Procession from the funeral home. Please meet at church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kelly's memory may be made to the ARMS Program at Massachusetts General Hospital , 151 Merrimac Street, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
