METHUEN – Margaret “Peggy” (Welch) Fiola, 84 passed away Tuesday November 18, 2014 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Auburn, Maine, she was the daughter of Edward and Blanche (Jackson) Welch. A resident of Methuen for the past 50 years, she worked in food services for 15 years at the Holy Family Hospital and Hewlett Packard before her retirement in 1987. Peggy later volunteered her time for 3 years at the M.S.P.C.A in Methuen.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, music and loved walking with her husband, hand in hand throughout the neighborhood. Peggy was an attendant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa’s Church in Methuen.
Peggy was predeceased by her son, John B. Fiola, who passed away in 1966 and is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, John A. Fiola, whom she loved devoutly. One sister, Claire Duff of Delaware; two nieces Janet Lombardo and Sherry Duff both of Maryland. Peggy also leaves many friends and aquaintences.
Peggy’s beloved husband, John would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Nevins, especially station A for their care and compassion.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Saturday morning from 9:30a.m. – 10:30a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral services will follow at 10:30a.m. in the funeral home with a burial in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
