NATICK: Norman, R. Mancuso, PhD, 76, died peacefully at his residence in Natick on Monday, November 10, 2014 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Utica, New York on September 16, 1938 the son of the late Joseph R. Mancuso and Antoinette (Basilio) Mancuso.
Dr. Mancuso is survived by his children Diane C. Czebieniak and her husband Paul Czebieniak of Utica, NY; Lisa A. Mancuso and her special friend Martin Spellacy of Framingham; John J. Mancuso of Framingham and their mother Evelyn F. Mancuso of Framingham. Grandfather of John Paul Czebieniak, Jeremiah Mancuso and Jessica Madden. Brother of Rocco J. Mancuso and his wife Dawn Mancuso of Cheyenne, WY; Theresa Marie Mancuso of Brooklyn, NY; Carolina Rodgers and her husband David Rodgers of Brooklyn, NY and the late Monsignor Laurence Mancuso. Father-in-law of Johanna Mancuso. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dr. Mancuso spent his formative years in Utica, NY and has been a resident of Natick for over 45 years. He graduated from Utica Catholic Academy. He received his BS and Masters in Chemistry and Math from Saint Bonaventure University in Olean, NY. He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from SUNY/ Buffalo and did substantial Post-Doctoral studies at M.I.T. After working at several computer development firms, he started a consulting firm and worked for a number of European companies before returning to the United States to complete his career as a consultant. Dr. Mancuso was an avid reader and has had a lifelong interest in shooting and woodworking. He was also an accomplished wood turner. He had remained interested in political and national issues and had a great love for his country. Dr. Mancuso was the author of “Common Sense II, A Remedy for the Current American Crisis”. Dr. Mancuso was devoted to his children, grandchildren and family and was an individual who loved to meet and chat with people from all walks of life.
Visitations will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
His funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 9:00 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 57 Brown Street, Weston, MA 02493.
Private burial will be held in the Mancuso family lot in Calvary Cemetery in Utica, NY.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517
