Obituary

Johnny Gene Watson, 65, of Tifton died Friday, August 22, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Watson will be laid to rest at Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha. T. J. Stephenson, Justin Barnes, Eddie Watson, Jimmy Watson, Jacob Hansen and Steve Johnson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Watson was born on July 16, 1949 in Tift County and was the son of Robert Leon Watson and Georgia Griffin Watson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Joe Watson. He was a disabled veteran, who had served in the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army. He loved the Tift County High School Blue Devils and was a huge fan. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Watson is survived by one son, Johnny El-Gene Watson of Tifton; two brothers, Robert Watson, Jr. and Jimmy Watson, both of Tifton; and one sister, Sue Goforth of Dublin.
