BEVERLY: Henry “Hank” McLaughlin, III, 45, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Samantha (Couceiro) McLaughlin.
Born in Woburn on January 19, 1969, he was the son of Linda (Grammer) McLaughlin of Woburn and the late Henry McLaughlin, Jr. He was a graduate of Woburn High School class of 1987 and had resided in Woburn for many years before moving to Beverly nineteen years ago.
Hank enjoyed coaching Beverly youth softball and youth football, where he was the President of the Beverly Youth Football. He was also the manager and coach of the Northshore Legends AAU Softball Team. An avid sports fan, Hank loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Natasha Thorpe of Danvers, Kandice Thorpe, Meaghan McLaughlin and Jacob McLaughlin all of Beverly; was “Pop Pop” to Keegan Lucas Rollins; his maternal grandparents, John and Jean Grammer of Woburn; three sisters, Dorothy McLaughlin of Beverly and Karen McLaughlin and Amy McLaughlin both of Woburn; a brother, Kevin McLaughlin and his companion, Diane Sawyer of Woburn; mother-in-law, Ethel Silva of Beverly; grandmother-in-law, Josephine Couceiro of Peabody; brother-in-law, Chris Couceiro of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Michele Freeman of Peabody; a nephew and two nieces, Tyler McLaughlin of Beverly, Brittany Wilochoski of Peabody and Cassie Loughman of Woburn and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 1 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the McLaughlin Family Benefit Fund, c/o Beverly Municipal Credit Union, 139 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915.Interment will be held in Central Cemetery, Beverly.
