Obituary

BLASE, Mary Rose Frances (Scaccia) Of Readville and Hyde Park, died peacefully, age 100, at the JML Care Center in Falmouth. She was the loving wife of the late Michael F. Blase for 62 years. Mary was born in Franklin, raised and lived in Readville for over 90 years. Daughter of the late Frederick and Maria Nicola (D'Amelia) Scaccia. Sister of Emma Lane of Readville. Loving mother of James W. Blase and his wife Emily of Plainville and Dennis M. Blase and his wife Dorothy of East Falmouth. Grandmother of Michael, Christopher, James, Nicole, Dennis, Deborah, David and Danielle. Also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceassed by her brothers, Angelo, Anthony, William, Jerry, and her sisters, Dora Digirolamo and Anna DiPastina, Nash. Mary was a graduate of St. Anne's School (1926) and Hyde Park High School (1930) and took several courses in labor relations at the University of Massachusetts. She was a loving mother and also had an outstanding career in the garment industry.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Tuesday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Anne's Church, Readville, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-8. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary's memory to the Alex Blase Scholarship Foundation, 59 Maple St., Attleboro Falls, MA 02763.
