William “Billy” Mack Dickey, age 89, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born October 2, 1923 in Water Valley, MS to the late Marvin and Leither Rampy Dickey. Billy served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of VFW. He worked as a mechanic for Trusty International Harvester and was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church in Water Valley. Billy enjoyed making jewelry, he loved music and played many instruments including the guitar, fiddle, lap steel, bass guitar and the mouth organ. He was a fun guy with a great sense of humor and he dearly loved spending time with his friends each morning at Turnage’s Drug Store.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 Noon in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. John Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Nolan Keel, Mason Morgan, Ethan Morgan, Ricky Hodo, David Black, Coty Gaskin and Michael Howell serving as pallbearers. Billy is survived by his wife, Minnie Mae Dickey of Water Valley, MS; four daughters, Sherry Black (David) of Lonoke, AR, Janice Akins of Water Valley, MS, Becky Keel (Nolan) of Foley, AL and Linda Webb Underwood (Ronnie) of Batesville, MS; one son, Richard Webb of Batesville, MS; two sisters, Mary Alice Dickey Hayles of Water Valley, MS and Hilda Mae Dickey of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Bobby Joe Dickey (Janette) and Marvin Wayne Dickey all of Water Valley, MS; Richard Dean Dickey of TX; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Baggett Dickey; one daughter, Pat Hollowell; and two brothers, James Dickey and Donald Dickey. |
