Marion Kate Sawyer, 111, of Chase City, VA, passed away on February 26, 2013. She was born on July 5, 1901 in United Kingdom, England. She is survived by her daughter, Gertrude Monica Vaughan of Chase City, VA, four grandchildren, Charles H. Vaughan of Virginia Beach, VA, Gail Vaughan Miller of Charlotte, NC, Alan Sawyer of Stains, England, and Linda Freeland of Ripley, England, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles William Sawyer, a son, William Charles Sawyer, and a sister, Ellen Heasman. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a retired Registered Nurse, and a Volunteer for the Chase City Rescue Squad. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the St. John's Episcopal Church. A private entombment will be held at the Woodland Mausoleum.
