Laurence Patrick Melia Sr. 71 of North Andover, Born December 1, 1941,
Died January 27, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the son of the late Edward G. and Kathleen E. (Shannon) Melia. Growing up in Lawrence, he was educated at St. Laurence’s Parochial School and Central Catholic High School. He then went on to graduate from Boston College and Villanova Law School. He served his community as a lawyer and teacher for many years, making a difference in the lives of countless people. He loved coaching baseball, and was a passionate Red Sox fan. He loved cooking and gardening with as much passion. A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he made an imprint on so many hearts with his gentle touch and compassion towards all.
Survived by his loving wife Jane F. (Hallice) Melia of North Andover, daughter Caroline Melia and Carl McManus of Boston, daughter Kathleen Melia of North Andover, son Kevin Melia of Boston, son Laurence Melia Jr. of Boston, grandson Benjamin Melia of North Andover. Sister Margaret (Melia) Kleven of Salem, Ma. Brother Edward G. Melia and his wife Jayne of Redondo Beach, Ca. Brother Robert Mason and his wife Doris of Andover. Brother in-law Thomas Middleton of Andover. Sister in-law Frances Melia of Andover. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00AM in St. Michael Church in North Andover, MA. A burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery, 177 Salem St. North Andover, MA. 01845
