Robert G. King 71 of Mount Pleasant passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. Bob was born October 5, 1941 in Mount Pleasant the son of the late William H. and Mary E. Blanda King. Bob was a 1959 Graduate of Hurst High School, attended the New Hope Community Church, Mt. Pleasant and was the founder and proprietor of King's Super Tire and Recapping Service, Mount Pleasant. Bob was formerly employed by Baierl Chevrolet, Murrysville, PPG Industries, Greensburg, Clausner Tires, Mt. Pleasant. He then owned and operated ice cream trucks throughout the area and in 1967 founded King's Tire's in Bridgeport operating at that location until moving to the current location in 1996 as King's Super Tire and Recapping Service, he was also the proprietor of the Ice Factory and Linda Anne's Auto. Bob was well known throughout the car racing circuit, racing late model cars at local raceways such as Motordrome and Jennerstown Speedways and others, but most remembered and nationally known in truck pulling competitions as the owner and driver of "The Stomper." Surviving are his children; Robert King, Jr. and wife Lorraine of Scottdale, William King and wife Jennifer and Brandon King and wife Sonia of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Stephanie Mullaney and husband Patrick, Kacie, Lauren, Megan, Ethan, Abigail and Mylee King; brothers, Carl and Curtis King of Mount Pleasant, Paul King and wife Betty of Texas and John King and wife Patty of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Evelyn Kuhn and husband Edward, Lillian King and Dorothy Kuhn all of Mount Pleasant and Linda King and Richard of East Huntingdon Twp., also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Shirley Bradlaw of Norvelt. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife. Linda Geisler King; sisters, Ramona Jean Pasko and Mary Miller; brother William King, Sister-in-Law, Doris King, brothers-in-law, Michael Pasko, James Kuhn,Samuel Miller, Donald Shaw and Lawrence Geisler and a niece Victoria King. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 8PM Saturday to the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, INC 730 W. Main Street Mount Pleasant (724-547-2122) where services will be held Sunday at 1PM with Rev. Michael Dickman officiating. Entombment will follow at the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery Mausoleum.
