Obituary

Karen Marie (Brown) Skiver, 64, of Plymouth (Manomet) passed away at home surrounded by her family January 9. Beloved wife of Michael Skiver of Manomet. Loving mother of Bryan M. of Plymouth, and Matthew J. and his wife Nicole of Plymouth. Grandmother of Emily Rose and Michael J. Skiver. She also leaves 2 brothers, Michael S. Brown of Carver, and James T. Brown of Dover, and 3 sisters, Jacqueline Schulze of Wareham, Catherine Foley of Allston, and Marcia Gargiulo of New Seabury, and many nieces and nephews.

Karen, born in Boston, was the daughter of John and Hazel (Lippiatt) Brown and graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston. Karen was a free spirit and loved to read, garden, and paint with watercolors. She enjoyed boating and her seaside garden. She was a member of the Plymouth Art Guild and the Bonnie Seniors and was very active in St. Bonaventure’s Church in Manomet. Karen also did volunteer work for the Fund for the Needy and, in the past, worked for the Council of Aging in Plymouth..

Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road (Rte 3A) on Monday, January 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Church in Manomet on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 10 AM following a brief ceremony at 9:00 AM at the Richard Davis Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Bonaventure Fund for the Needy, P.O. Box 996, Manomet, MA 02345. Burial will be in the Chiltonville Cemetery in Plymouth.
