Leicester – Florence M. (Lussier) Richard, 93, of Leicester and formerly of Worcester, died on Monday, December 10 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after a brief illness.
Mrs. Richard was a loving and devoted wife to Aurele “Al” J. Richard for 63 years. She is also survived by her three sons, Paul A. Richard and his wife, Susan of Worcester, Denis E. Richard and his wife, Jody of Auburn, and Philip L. Richard and his wife, Peggy of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Florence was born in St. Denis, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Adolphe and Marie (Desrosiers) Lussier and is predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Richard attended Ascension High School and prior to marriage worked for many years at the former Handi-Pad Supply Company.
She was a longtime member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester until it’s closing in 2008. Florence enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed going to Cape Cod for her summer trips with her husband, Aurele and her family.
Her greatest qualities in life were her patience, self-sacrifice and devotion to family.
The funeral will be held on Friday, December 14th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 14th from 9 to 10:30 in the funeral home before the funeral.
