Cynthia A. (Block) Dumont, 62, of Bow, died October 31, 2012 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA after a period of declining health.
She was born in St. Peter, MN on July 9, 1950 to William and Mary (MacEachern) Block. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College and a master of arts degree in counseling psychology from Antioch College in Keene. She was a certified cognitive behavioral therapist.
Cynthia had a passion and love for animals. She worked for many years as a private caretaker of dogs and cats. An avid reader, she also had a connectedness to the ocean, beaches and seagulls. She was active in her retirement community including photographing community events.
The family includes a daughter, Teresa Slazas and her husband, Martin, of Manchester; three grandchildren, Faith Slazas, Martin Slazas and Jennifer Slazas; her father, William H. Block of Tilton; three siblings, Mary Jane Fosher of Barrington, Robert Block of Weare and Teresa McGuigan and her husband, Robert, of Hooksett; and cousins, nieces, nephews and a circle of close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. John Church, 72 South Main Street, Concord. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester at the convenience of the family.
