Loving father of John Steele of Hudson, FL, Evelyn Folco and her husband Dominic of Spring Hill, FL, Betty Shaw and her husband Butch of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Raymond Steel and his wife Anne of Wellfleet, Jerry Steele and his wife Rose Marie of Plympton, Clare Steele of Marshfield, Cathy Mason and her husband Gerry of Abington, Danette Gouthro and her husband Patrick of West Bridgewater, Allan Steele and his wife Kathy of Plainville and the late Maureen Gouthro. Loving grandfather of twenty five and great grandfather of forty. Dear brother of Joe Steele of Dorchester, Sister Florence Steele, CSM, Jen Gromack and Theresa Gouthro all of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and the late Father Harvey Steele, SFM, Dr. Bernie Steele, Angus Steele, Mae McVeign and Evelyn MacKinnon. Son of the late Michael and Mary Ann (Sutherland) Steele. Father in law of Gary Gouthro of Wellfleet. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He was the owner of Black and White Grocery Store in Nova Scotia and worked as a meat cutter at George Ellis and Co. on Newbury St. in Boston. Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139, Marshfield on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 8 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St. at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
