Alice (Sperring) Baer, 99, of Portsmouth, RI formerly of Cadmans Neck, Westport died peacefully, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was wife of the late Charles H. Baer.
Born in Blackburn, England, she was daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Lonsdale) Sperring. Prior to retirement, she was a nurse’s aide at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Baer was a member of the Westport Women’s Club.
Survivors include 3 sons: Douglas R. Baer and his wife Terri of Fall River, Ronald C. Baer and his wife Evelyn of Newport, RI and Russell M. Baer of New Bedford; daughter-in-law: Doris Baer of Vernon, CT; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a beloved niece: Deborah Buffington and her husband Peter of Portsmouth; a beloved nephew: Robert C. Wood and his wife Kathy of Somerset and several great nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late John R. Baer and sister of the late Nellie O’Neil, Annie Amaral, Susanna Wood and Robert Sperring.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Potter Funeral Home at 4:30 P.M.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 – 4:30 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
