Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother
TEWKSBURY: Alice W. (Copeley) Marren, age 97, a native of Lowell, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Oosterman's Rest Home In Melrose.
She was the beloved wife of Charles P. Marren, who passed away on February 3, 1996.
Born in Lowell on November 7, 1914, she was one of twelve children of the late John T. Copeley and the late Mary D. (Mulverhill) Marren.
Alice was raised in Lowell, attended Lowell schools and graduated from the former Keith Hall Parochial High School.
Following her marriage, Alice dedicated her life to providing a loving home to her late husband and their three children.
Alice resided in Lowell until moving to Somerville. She resided in Somerville for 60 years until moving to Melrose in 1996.
She enjoyed family gatherings and dining out with her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Marsha E. Chicoine and her husband Joseph of Melrose; one son, G. Paul Marren and his wife Beverly of Burlington; her daughter in-law, Sharon (Aberle) Marren of Lowell; five grandchildren; Charles D. Marren, Danielle M. Auger, Dana A. Chicoine, Joseph A. Martini and David C. Marren, Jr.; five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.
Alice was the mother of the late David C. Marren. Grandmother of the late Cheryl A. (Marren) Lucas, Joseph B. Chicoine and Paul J. Marren. Alice was also was pre-deceased by five sisters and six brothers. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug 22, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
