Obituary

BERKLEY - Brenda A. (Rose) Stratton, age 65, was called upon by our Lord on May 15, 2012 following a valiant fight with heart disease and diabetes.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Angie (Thomas) Rose, and wife of the late Douglas Lee Stratton, she is survived by her loving daughter, Sonya Rose Sylvester and husband Warren of Dighton; her devoted granddaughter, Amanda Lee Sylvester and her fiancé Jared Faherty; four brothers, Anthony Rose and his wife Elaine of Berkley, William Rose and his wife Shirley of Assonet, Raymond Rose and his wife Janice of Berkley, and Daniel Rose and his wife Donna of Assonet; two sisters, Olive Bennett and her husband John of Phoenix, AZ and A. Linda Wysong and her husband Frank of NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother of the late Bruce Douglas Marvel.
Mrs. Stratton attended Berkley schools and was a resident of Berkley all her life.
She was a member and deacon of the United Church of Christ of Assonet. Before becoming disabled in 1998, she worked at Princess House, Inc. for 25 years as a customer service manager.
Her first love was her family and then friends.
Brenda is remembered most for her deep faith, love of children, generous spirit, and sense of humor.
She was very devoted and active in church functions, enjoyed games, her home, and gardening.
She traveled often to visit her sisters and enjoyed staying at the ocean with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the United Church of Assonet Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 155 Assonet, MA 02702.
A celebration of the life of Brenda Stratton will be held at United Church of Assonet, 9 North Main St. Assonet on Sunday, May 20th at 6 p.m.
