Joseph A. Valente, age 84, passed away suddenly, April 9th, at the Docotor´s Hospital of Sarasota, Florida. Born in Revere, MA he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Angelosanto) and Alexandro Valente. He was the beloved husband of My-Le (Zoldberg) Valente and the late Elena (DiClerico) Valente.

Joseph was a resident of Sarasota, FL for the past three years formerly of Medford. He worked his whole life as a general contractor in the construction industry. He was the former owner and operater of the Joseph Valente and Son Contracting Co. Joseph also served in the United States Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

In addition to his first wife, Joseph is also predeceased by his son Joseph Valente Jr. and two sisters, Ann Storella and Marie Cuccola. He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Guillou of FL, Valerie Valente of CT and one son James Valente of Medford. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Brother of Jeanette Raetano of FL, Madaline LaVine, Frank and Alexander Valente all of Wilmington.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Thursday at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church 118 High St. Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove cemetery, Medford.
