Obituary

Mary E. (Carr) Simeone, a resident of Weston, MA, and Stuart, Florida, and formerly of Needham and Charlestown, passed away into eternal life on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at her home in Weston surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was 88 years old.

Mary was born in Somerville on January 6, 1924, the eldest daughter and one of nine children to the late Francis H. Carr and Anne A. (Collins) Carr. Mary grew up in Charlestown where she attended grade school and graduated from Girls Latin School in Boston in 1941. She then attended Regis College and was a member of the gaduating class of 1945. Mary attended American Airlines School in 1945 and flew with American Airlines until 1958 when she met her future husband Salvatore "Chub" Simeone. Mary is a member of The Regis College Alumni, American Airlines Kiwi Club and the Charles River Country Club. She was a member of St. Julia's Catholic Church in Weston and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stuart, Florida.

Mary is the beloved wife of 54 years to Salvatore "Chub" Simeone. She is the devoted mother of Frances Simeone, Ann Pace and her husband Alfred, Lisa Ewanouski and her husband Robert and Michele Abrecht and her husband Cliff. She is the loving Grandmother of Zach, Mary Elizabeth, Francesca, Lichele, Ford, Bianca, Tripp, Lexi, Noah, Isabella, Declan, Charlie, Severino, Charlotte, Sonny, Stella Rose, Quinton, Michele, Rocco and Gus. She is the loving sister of Philip X. Carr Sr. and his wife Mary, the late Anne L. Donahue, William J., Frank H. Jr., John K., Joseph A., Robert D. and Thomas G. Carr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Avenue, Needham, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline. Visiting hours for Mary will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
