Mrs. Henny M. (Pilaeten) Paeleman, a resident of Medford since 1953 and beloved wife of Robert C. Paeleman, died at the LifeCare Center in Stoneham on Sunday morning, November 20, 2011. She was 89 years old.
Born in Belgium on January 25, 1922, Henny was the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Germaine (Maudens) Pilaeten. She worked as a seamstress for more than twenty years at the Mattie Company, formerly located in Medford. She had been a longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden.
Besides her beloved husband of more than 64 years, Robert, Henny will be missed by her loving sisters; Sussan M. Swanson of Medford and Eliane DeClerq of Hanover, nieces; Anmarie and her husband; Larry McGonagle of Nashua, New Hampshire, Jeannine and her husband Scott Holden of Melrose, Henny Walters of Pembroke and Judy Declerq of Pembroke, nephews; Richard J. and his wife Susan Swanson of Burlington and Robert and his wife Jo Ann DeClerq of Pembroke. She was the great aunt of Peter, Tiffany, Rebecca, Ian, Shayna, Larry Jr., Shannon, Sean, John-Michael, Daniel, Amanda, Derek and Andrew. Henny is also survived by ten great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Her funeral was held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours were held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
