WEBSTER - Walter P. Alisch, 90, of Webster, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 in the home of his daughter. His wife of 53 years, Veronica A. (Kisielewski) Alisch, died in 2000.
He leaves 3 daughters, Pamela A. Alisch of Webster, Nancy V. Doyle and her husband Scotty of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Tina M. Giza and her husband John J. of Thompson, CT; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Barnett and her husband Ed, Katie and Peter Giza, and Walter and Luke Doyle; and many nephews and nieces. He also leaves his cat Hazel. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Rudolph, Albert and Emil.
He was born and raised in Worcester, the second son of Emil and Helen (Walters) Alisch. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He lived in Webster since his marriage in 1946.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
Mr. Alisch was a machinist at Heald Machine Company in Worcester, a part of Cincinnati Milacron, for 41 years before retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and the Webster-Dudley American Legion Post #184. He was a jack of all trades and master of several. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, October 15, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform the military honors at the cemetery. Calling hours are from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 14, in the funeral home.
