Donald R. Yelle, age 84, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away peacefully at home, in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Hartman) Yelle.

Born in Taunton, MA on February 19, 1941, he was a loving son of the late Albert F. Yelle and the late Pauline B. (King) Yelle-Semas and her late husband Joseph Semas.

Donald grew up and was educated in Norton. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a Grounds Supervisor at Wheaton College in Norton.

Donald’s family was the love and focal point of his life. He was an awesome husband, father and grandfather who will always be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor and strong work ethics.

A Jack-Of-All Trades, Donald had the ability and knowledge to fix just about anything. He was a talented mechanic and well known in the Norton Community for his years of fixing lawnmowers at his home for others, a side job he truly loved. His other hobbies included camping and fishing on the Norton Reservoir, and he could always be counted on for telling a good joke.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted sons, Donald R. Yelle, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Mansfield, Michael A. Yelle of Taunton and Mark J. Yelle of Rehoboth. He was the cherished and proud Papa of Sarah Yelle of Anchorage, Alaska, Jeremy Yelle of Taunton and Jason Yelle, a member of the United States Coast Guard of Buxton, Maine. He was the dear brother of Albert Yelle and his wife Nicholina of Deland, Florida, Debra Lorray and her husband George of Middleboro, Nancy Neville and her husband Steve of Marion and the late George Yelle, who is survived by his wife Janet Yelle of Norton. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, April 14th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.

Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street #250, Framingham, MA 01701.
