Obituary

Jared Michael Levi
January 4, 1982-March 28, 2025

It is with immense sadness that we share our son, Jared M. Levi, passed away on March 28, 2025 with his faithful and loving canine companion, Elvis, by his side. Although our hearts have been shattered into a million pieces, we are comforted in knowing that he has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

Jared was born on January 4, 1982 in Anderson, Indiana, the son of Thomas and Terri Emmerling and Wynn Levi. A 2000 graduate of Alexandria Monroe High School, Jared was employed as a Security Service Tech with Koorsen Fire and Security.

If you were fortunate enough to have been in Jared's life, you would know that he had such a tender heart. Jared marched to the beat of his own drum with a quick-wit that was always welcomed and admired. What a wonderful sense of style Jared had. Let's not forget about his love of everything Air Jordan. If Air Jordan shoes were a fine wine, Jared would truly be considered a sommelier. Ask Jared about any pair of Air Jordan's and he could recite the history behind each one and when they were sold-or in Nike lingo "dropped." Jared loved to draw and his last unfinished piece was of a dragonfly that his mother had recently requested he create for her. One more thing-Jared absolutely loved visiting Chicago - the home town of his favorite sports teams- the Cubbies and the Bears. It is only fitting that his ashes will be spread in his favorite town - the town he referred to as "my home town."

Jared is survived by his parents, Thomas and Terri Emmerling, and Wynn Levi; brother, Jake (Erin) Emmerling; his maternal grandmother, Pamela Johnson, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his former wife, Kari Garner.

Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Johnson (aka Pop Johnson) and Phil and Janelyn Levi (aka Mom & Pop Levi).
We are so thankful for the relationship that Jared had with is cousin, Chelsea Whiteaker and her fiancé, Kyle Pruitt. You two mean the world to us---understanding Jared far better than any of us ever could.

A special thank you to the Fishers Police Department for their kind and caring support during our darkest hour. As well, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Jared's supervisor, Kim Ridenour, for his continued support during this difficult time.
