Obituary

Kevin Mark White, 67, of Rockport, MA., beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 12, 2025.

Kevin was born in Melrose on April 3, 1957, to Millicent (Neal) and Herbert White, and was raised in Danvers. After graduating from Danvers High School in 1975, he attended Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA., for two years before moving back to the East Coast. He then began his 43-year insurance career, starting with Charlie Warner, followed by Colonial Life.

Kevin then joined forces with longtime friend and mentor Larry Rice to start an independent insurance brokerage, Membership Benefits Group. Insurance was much more than a job to him. Often heard saying, “Insurance never sleeps,” Kevin truly believed in the product and ensuring working families were protected. His son Jesse joined the brokerage in 2009; the rest is history. Throughout his career, he developed lifelong friendships with colleagues, clients, and insurance reps, many of whom became family to him. Work for Kevin meant spending time with his best friends.

Kevin met the love of his life, Holly, in 1994. She fully embraced the role of stepmother to his son, Jesse. The two settled in Cape Ann, where they raised their daughter, Kathleen. Holly and Kevin built a life filled with love and laughter, creating a strong family bond.

Known for his sense of humor and quick wit, Kevin had a unique ability to connect with everyone he met. He made friends wherever he went and kept them close to him in every walk of life. While boisterous, he regularly vocalized his love and appreciation to everyone he knew. His deep faith, love for life, and devotion to his family were hallmarks of his character. He was also a rock n’ roll enthusiast and, most notably, Eddie Van Halen’s number-one fan (Tom Brady was a close second). Kevin’s vibrant personality and infectious spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

From traveling the world with Holly, family, and friends to endless rounds of golf and battling for the “Family Honor” on the 18th, Kevin truly maximized his 67 years on Earth. An active member of his community, he enjoyed meeting up for coffee in Gloucester and Sunday morning church service. A self-proclaimed “yes” guy, he was always hopping a flight for the next adventure or heading to the Garden to root on the B’s or Celts. Kevin’s zest for life and the joy he brought to those around him will never be forgotten.

Kevin is predeceased by his father, Herbert, and his mother, Millicent. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Holly, his son Jesse and his wife Kristin of Marblehead, and his daughter Kathleen of Rockport. He also leaves behind his three cherished grandchildren, Will, Millie, and Henry, as well as his sister, Janet, and her husband, Rick Munn, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, along with his niece, nephew, and cousins.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many dear friends who meant so much to Kevin and brought him laughs until his final day. His mentors, Father Jurgen and Pastor Matt, were a guiding light, as were his many friends from the Rockport Baptist Church.

A service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Rockport on Friday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at the Gloucester Elks Lodge #892. In place of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kevin White to the Salvation Army.
