Roger Eugene Chausse

CHICOPEE - Roger E. Chausse, 82, of Chicopee, was Called Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Lowell on February 10, 1943, a beloved son of the late Leo A. and Annette (Bourgeault) Chausse. He was raised and educated in Lowell and later lived in Quincy and West Wareham before moving to Feeding Hills in 1980. In 2000, he moved to Chicopee where he lived for the remainder of his life.
He served his country during the Vietnam War, received the National Defense Service Medal and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was last employed as a Manager at the former Sullivan Consolidation in Springfield. He was a member of the American Legion Post 275 in Chicopee. He enjoyed meeting up with his friends at the Chicopee Senior Center. He was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Fairview where he volunteered his time for many events. Most of all, he loved his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife, Audrey P. (Johnson) Chausse. They were married on December 17, 1967 at Saint Patrick Church in Lawrence and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. He leaves his three loving children, Michael P. Chausse and his wife, Lisa, of Guys Mills, PA, Jeffrey S. Chausse and his wife, Ester, of Charleston, SC and Christine A. Whitehead and her husband, William, of Chicopee; his eight cherished grandchildren, James Sands (Jesse) III, Madalyn Gillingham and her husband, Michael, Hope Chausse, Joshua Chausse, Gavin Chausse, Victoria Sheehan, Nathaniel Whitehead and Mason Whitehead; his two cherished great-grandchildren, James Sands IV and Wrenley Gillingham; his dear brother, Leo Chausse of Florida; his two dear sisters, Anita Michaud of Pelham, NH, and Claire Brucato and her husband, George, of Dracut; his dear brother-in-law, Charlie Johnson and his wife, Lise, of Laconia, NH; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, April 4, 2025 beginning at 9 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Committal Service with United States Marine Corps Military Honors will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
