CHICOPEE – Kathleen D. “Kathy” Hutchinson, 74, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on March 20, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 27, 1950, a beloved daughter of Edward C. and Winifred A. (McTaggert) Hutchinson. She was raised in West Springfield, graduated from West Springfield High School, and moved to Chicopee around 1981 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a supervisor at Seahorse Bioscience Corporation in Chicopee and retired in 2016. Kathy enjoyed playing pool and spending time with all of her friends at the Buffalo Club in Chicopee. She loved to play softball, go to the casinos, listening to music, dancing, reading and watching crime and horror movies. She spent many hours cruising on Hampton Ponds on her pontoon boat. She leaves her loving life partner of 43 years, Linda M. Keeler of Chicopee; her beloved daughter, Kimberly Gariepy and her husband, David, of Georgia; her cherished grandson, Brandon Allard; her dear brother, Edward C. “Skip” Hutchinson, Jr. of Agawam; her three dear sisters, Nancy Hutchinson of Springfield, Deborah Johnson of Agawam, and Lynn Lafond and her husband, Allan, of South Carolina; her two cherished nephews, Allan Lafond, Jr. of West Virginia and Sean Sullivan of Chicopee; her cherished niece, Megan K. Sullivan of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Jean T. (Keeler) Sullivan of Chicopee; and her many dear friends and extended family members. There are no visiting hours.
