Gennaro Fiorentino, age 92, of Medford passed away on Saturday, March 15th at Winchester Hospital. Born and raised in Mirabella Eclano, Italy, he was the son of the late Gabriele and Carmela (Barletta) Fiorentino. Gennaro immigrated to the US in 1959 and settled in Medford, working for many years as a tailor.

Gennaro loved to garden. He planted a variety of fruits and vegetables each year, which he and his wife used to make things like wine and tomato sauce. Gennaro was most proud of his fig trees and took joy in sharing his harvest with family and friends.

Gennaro was the beloved husband of Concetta (Zampetti) Fiorentino, and the devoted father of Gabriel Fiorentino and his wife Sandra, and Ituccia Fiorentino. He was a loving Nono to Danielle and Alyssa Fiorentino, and dear brother of Carmela DeSimone, Antonio Fiorentino, Palmina Pepe, and the late Rosenella Flammia, Lina Imbriano, Teresa Feola and Antonia Buonopane. Gennaro is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit Gennaro’s family on Thursday, March 20th from 4 through 8 pm at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, and again on Friday, March 21st at 9 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St, Medford, at 10 am. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
