CHICOPEE – Charlene B. (Roberts) Fredette, 76, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 3, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on November 7, 1948, the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Vivian (Beaudry) Roberts. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School and moved to Chicopee in 1974 where she lived for most of her life. She was employed for over 30 years at the Chicopee School Department and retired in 2012. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Charlene enjoyed traveling, especially going to Disney World as well as going on many Disney cruises. Above of all, she loved spending time and doting on her grandchildren who brought so much joy to her life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Ronald D. Fredette who was Called Home on October 4, 2023. They were married on August 26, 1967 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted daughters, Kristie L. Sargent and her husband, Andrew, of East Hartford, CT and Karyn L. St. George and her husband, Shawn, of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren, Ashleigh Kate Sargent, Alyssa Meade and her husband, Shawn, Natalie St. George and her fiancé, Coby Piardi, and Jonathan St. George and his partner, Kellie Lyonnais; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01010.
