Marilyn V. Fink, of Ventura, was born in Oakland, Iowa on July 17, 1936 and passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025 at her home of 60 years with her loving family at her side.
Marilyn had two daughters born in Battle Creek, Michigan, one of which died 3 days after birth. Marilyn moved to Ventura in 1958 with her husband Charles Barnes and her daughter. She and Charles had three more children. After 16 years of marriage, they divorced. Later she met the love of her life, Rufus Fink. It was a match made in heaven.
They traveled the world and made many friends. They both loved singing in the Gold Coast Community Choir and the Ventura Missionary Church.
Marilyn worked for the Ventura Police Department for 45 years; she retired from the police department and went back to work for the department again and retired again.
Marilyn loved her family and friends deeply. She is survived by her son: Robert Barnes of Bakersfield, son: James Barnes of Ventura, daughter: Sandra Blanks of Ventura, daughter: Sharon Ruth Fink, daughter: Jennifer Morris, sister: Donna of Texas; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband: Rufus "Ray" Fink, and her brother: Bruce.
Marilyn's favorite bible verse was Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Graveside services for both Rufus "Ray" Fink and Marilyn Fink will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Higher Vision Church 346 North Kimball Road, Ventura.
