Maria F. (Pagliuca) Romano of Revere and formerly of Boston’s North End passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those she loved on February 19th. She was 74. Born in Montefalcione, Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Alice (Carpenito) Pagliuca.

Raised in Boston’s North End, Maria was a graduate of the Julie Billiart School. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Maria enjoyed a long career with the Department of Revenue for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was a generous and energetic woman who enjoyed time with her family and friends and liked to try her luck at the casino. She and Michael were married nearly 50 years and were together for 55. They kept a beautiful home in Revere where they raised their children. Marie was a devout woman who attended Mass and devotions at St. Leonard’s in the North End and St. Anthony’s in Revere often.

In addition to her beloved husband Michael J. Romano, Marie leaves her devoted children, Michel Callahan and her husband Michael, Michael Romano and his wife Emily, and Louis Romano and his wife Irene. She was a loving grandmother to Henry, August and to a baby girl “on the way.” Marie also leaves her dear brother Anthony Pagliuca.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at St Leonard’s Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston’s North End on Wednesday, February 26 from 8:30 -10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
