Linda Susan Fletcher, age 78, of Woburn, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 18th, at Winchester Hospital with her husband Jim by her side. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Linda was raised and educated in Medford, she was the daughter of William O. and Senja M. (Harju) Martyn.
Linda lived in Revere before moving to Woburn over 36 years ago. She worked at the Custom House in Boston, was a jewelry broker and saleswoman, and a bartender throughout her career. Linda worked hard but loved fun even more. She was an extremely caring mother, daughter, wife, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. When not at work, Linda loved decorating, shopping, gardening and being social. She also enjoyed her vacations to Cape Cod and Aruba.
Linda was the devoted mother of James M. Fletcher Jr. and his wife Julie of Woburn, and grandmother to their son Martyn. She is also survived by her loving and loyal husband James "Jim" M. Fletcher Sr. of Woburn, with whom she shared a life for nearly 40 years. She also leaves behind countless relatives and friends.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Linda`s family at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Monday, February 24th, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Mary Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
