Mary Ann Boldeia, 82, of Londonderry, NH, died Sunday, December 29, 2024 at High Pointe House Hospice in Haverhill, MA. She was born on October 9, 1942 in Lowell, MA, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Kyriazos) Flemings. Mary Ann was a graduate of Tewksbury State Hospital Nursing School in Tewksbury, MA and worked as an LPN for two years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lowell. Mary Ann later worked as a solderer for Honeywell. After a move to Londonderry, NH in 1979, Mary Ann joined Digital Equipment Corporation where she worked as an assembler and tester of printed circuit boards. Due to the company’s reorganization, Mary Ann attended secretarial school and worked for an engineering group in Littleton, MA as a secretary. To be closer to home, Mary Ann joined Martel Electronics in Windham, NH where she worked until she retired.
Mary Ann was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church where she served on the Bereavement Committee. Mary Ann often contributed cookie trays, fruit salads, and her famous carrot cakes. When she retired, she loved spending winters with her husband Sam in Blue Skys Co-Op Community in Naples, Florida where she was well loved by the residents. Mary Ann enjoyed riding her bike around the park, attending Bingo nights, and taking an occasional trip with friends to the casino in Immokalee. Mary Ann was best known for putting smiles on many faces because of the cards she would send to Blue Skys residents. She remembered birthdays, anniversaries and sent cheerful get well notes to those in need.
The most important aspect of Mary Ann’s life was her family. She shared 61 years of marriage with her husband and loved to travel with him. Mary Ann cherished her time with all four of her grandchildren. She loved celebrating every holiday and family milestone because it was a reason for her family to be together.
Mary Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Sam Boldeia of Londonderry; her daughter, Kelly Giguere of Londonderry; her son, Joseph Boldeia and his wife Belinda of Bedford, NH; four grandchildren, Faith Mayer, Abby Giguere, Sam Boldeia and Max Boldeia; her brother, Lennie Flemings of Hampton, NH; as well as several nieces and nephews and her best friend of 75 years, Nancy Lee Manseau of Ware, MA. Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, John Flemings, Jr. in 2015, and her sister, Charlene Pires in 2023.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4th at 9:00 am in St. Mark's Church, One South Road, Londonderry. The family would like to thank Dr. Kad and the third-floor nursing staff at Parkland Medical Center as well as the care team at High Pointe House Hospice for their compassionate care of Mary Ann and for the support they provided the family.
