Susanne M. Lyra (Wilson) of Franklin, formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 18, 2024. She was 61 years old. Susanne was the beloved wife of Robert J. Lyra. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth T. (McGrath) Wilson.

Prior to her retirement, Susanne worked as a medical secretary in the healthcare industry. She enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod, admiring their beautiful beaches. Susanne and her husband Robert also enjoyed taking last minute overnight trips around the New England States. Susanne took interest in tracing her family’s genealogy and was able to discover her many ancestors, tracing back many generations.

Susanne was the devoted mother of Brian Lyra of Franklin and Kevin Lyra of McMinnvile, OR. She was the dear sister of Richard W. Wilson and his wife Linda Jean of Wilmington and Cindy J. Trainer and her husband Larry of Oak Island, NC. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Susanne’s funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA on Monday, December 23 at, 10:30AM, followed by a funeral mass in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, MA, at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, December 22 from 4-8PM.
