Jeanette (DeAngelis) Valente passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln on December 14th. She was 83. A lifelong Medford resident, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Ralph and Rose (Russo) DeAngelis.
Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. As a young woman she worked as a cashier at Johnny's Foodmaster. Later she worked in accounts payable. A true labor of love were the years she volunteered at the Medford senior center. Among the things she did there was knit many items for seniors, the sick, and other people in need. It gave Jeanette great joy to use her talents to make others happy. She was a great cook and loved to bake; her family enjoyed the fruits of her labors. For fun she liked to pray cribbage.
The beloved wife of Domenic F Valente, Jeanette was a devoted mother to Maria G. Cohen of Pocasset and Domenic F. Valente III and his wife Coleen of Nashua, NH. She was a loving grandmother to Maya Rose Cohen, Adam Valente, and Matthew Valente. She was a dear sister to Ralph DeAngelis, Armando DeAngelis, the late Carol Hammond, and the late Rosemarie Long.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Saint Clement Church, 64 Warner St., Medford on Saturday, December 28 at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jeanette’s name to Care Dimensions Hospice House, 125 Winter St, Lincoln, MA 01773.
