CHICOPEE – Robert N. Robitaille, 74, a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 16, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at the Agawam West Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on December 10, 1949 a beloved son of the late Lawrence H. and Annette M. (Belanger) Robitaille. He was raised in Aldenville, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in the city for many years. He furthered his education and received an Associate Degree from Holyoke Community College. He served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy and attained the rank of Boiler Technician Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was employed as a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service at the Bulk Mail Center in Springfield. He leaves his two loving and devoted daughters, Cindy M. Higgins and her husband, Arthur, of Agawam and Erica M. Ikonomidis and her husband, Alex, of Longmeadow; his five cherished grandchildren, Joseph Higgins, Jadon Higgins, Eliana Higgins, Samantha Ikonomidis, and Sophia Ikonomidis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard L. Robitaille who was Called Home on August 3, 2024. His funeral and burial with United States Navy Military Honors will be private for his family.
