Mary Faye (Brogden) Claypool
October 25, 1932- November 17, 2024

Mary Faye (Brogden) Claypool, 92, of Anderson passed away at her home surrounded by her family on November 17, 2024 following an extended illness.

Mary was born on October 25, 1932 in Jefferson, Missouri to Atlas D. and Edith Brogden. She was a lifelong resident of Anderson. She graduated from Anderson High School in the class of 1950. She retired from Delco Remy in 1987 after 30 years. She was a member of the Redeemer Baptist Church of Anderson where she was nicknamed “Sweet Mary”.

Mary lit up every room she was in with her endless positive energy, contagious laughter, and stories that were mostly true, but always entertaining nonetheless. She loved bingo, the casino, butter pecan ice cream, but loved her family most of all. She was a member of TOPS since 2005.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam (Bryan) Harris of Alexandria; a son and daughter-in-law, Morris (Paula) Claypool Jr. of New Port Richey, FL; three grandchildren, Morris (Taryn) Claypool III of Anderson, Michelle (Raymond) Dela Calzada of Magnolia, DE, and Kerri (Nathan) McElhoe of Anderson; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joanna (Don) Sweigart and Libby Morgan all of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, who was the love of her life, Morris L. Claypool Sr.; her parents, Atlas and Edith Brogden; two sisters, Becky Moore and Martha Walker; her daughter, Edith Robinson; three grandchildren, Heather Claypool, Bryan Harris Jr., and Jeffery Robinson.

We would like to give a special thanks to hospice team at ViaQuest for their kindness and care they provided to Mary over the last few months, and a special thanks to Diana, who became a friend to Mary and held a special place in her heart.

Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Brad Storm officiating. The burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Redeemer Baptist Church.
