Obituary

Marilyn McKillop, of Walpole and formerly Needham, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on November 7, 2024, after a courageous 50-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on July 14, 1947 in New Bedford, Marilyn was the beloved sister to Lynne (John) Bauer and Stephen (Kelly) Worden.

Marilyn was a loving soul who dedicated her life to her family. Cherished wife of James McKillop Jr. for over 56 years, together they built a life filled with love, joy, and the unbreakable bond of partnership. Marilyn was a devoted mother to three daughters, Jeanne (James) Chuslo, Traci (Thomas) Hall, and Danielle (Michael) Nelson. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she was their constant source of strength and encouragement.

Marilyn was a cherished grandmother to 7 grandchildren; Rachel, Thomas, Nicholas, Samantha, Sarah, Allie and Joseph. All brought immense joy to her life. Her legacy of love, warmth, and resilience lives on through them.

Despite the challenges posed by her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis at a young age, Marilyn faced each day with courage, grace, and a positive spirit. She fought this debilitating illness for five decades, never allowing it to define her or diminish her. Her tenacity and perseverance served as an inspiration to all who knew her. Through every setback, Marilyn’s determination to live life and be present for her family remained steadfast.

She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life was one of extraordinary courage and unconditional love.
