Huguette (Beaulieu) Charest

CHICOPEE – Huguette (Beaulieu) Charest, 87, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at the John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Rivère Bleue Temiscouta, Province of Quebec, Canada on May 7, 1937, a beloved daughter of the late Leonide and Lucia (Picard) Beaulieu. She was raised and educated in Canada and settled in Chicopee in 1969 where she lived for most of her life. She was a longtime cook in the rectory of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and was a longtime communicant of the parish. She served her parish as a lector for the French Mass, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Parish Council Family Life Commission, and a member of des Dames de Saint Anne. She was a member of the Franco American Women’s Club. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvin A. Charest who was Called Home on December 17, 2000. They were married in Canada on August 10, 1957 and were blessed with over 43 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving and devoted children, Michel Charest of Concord, CA, France Martin and her husband, Timothy, of Suffield, CT, Andrée Siudak and her husband, David, of Chicopee, and Jennifer Marcouillier and her husband, Warren, of Billerica, MA; her eight cherished grandchildren, Melissa Purcell, Jason Siudak, Scott Martin, Becki Mozeleski, Cameron Martin, Kelsey Marques, Olivia Marcouillier, and Melanie Marcouillier; her seven cherished great grandchildren, Ethan and Collin Purcell, Stella, Esmée, and Maverick Siudak, and Van and Calvin Mozeleski; her three dear sisters, Cecile Godin, Margot Beaulieu, and Marie-Paule Michaud, all of Canada; her brother, Philip Beaulieu of South Hadley; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members in the United States and Canada. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Paul Beaulieu and Jeannôt Beaulieu. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
