EAST SPRINGFIELD - Doreen B. (Reilly) Baker, 89, of East Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Belmullet, County Mayo, Ireland on New Year's Day, January 1, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Meenaghan) Reilly. She was raised and educated in Ireland, moved to Holyoke in 1953, and settled in Springfield in 1955 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She was a hard working woman who took great pride in raising her family and her Irish heritage. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Brendan T. Baker of East Springfield; her six loving and devoted children, Sheila P. Hayward and her husband, Mick, of South Hadley, Eileen M. Belniak and her husband, Michael, of Sutton, MA, John J. Baker and his wife, Nannette, of Chicopee, Brendan T. Baker Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Wilbraham, Kathleen D. Wurster and her fiancé, John Gonet, and Thomas M. Baker and his wife, Kelly, all of Southwick; her 17 cherished grandchildren; her 10 cherished great grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members in the United States and Ireland.
