Romolo, Margaret Ann (Peggy) formerly Powell, age 72, of Dedham, passed away on October 19, 2024.
Peggy was born to the late John B. Romolo and Catherine (Mulhern) Romolo. She grew up in West Roxbury and was a resident of Dedham, MA for over 30 years.
She graduated from St. Clare’s of Roslindale, Worcester State College and achieved her Masters Degree in Nursing from Salem State College.
Peggy studied nursing at the Peter Bent Brigham and was the most caring, compassionate and loving nurse you could ever have. She loved what she did and dedicated her life to others. Nursing was her passion and even after retirement, she never considered herself anything other than a nurse.
She loved going to the ballet with her daughter, Nikki. It was a special bond they shared together and they (almost) never missed a production of the Nutcracker in over 30 years. They also shared countless memories at other ballets and plays. Peggy loved the Red Sox, her dog, reading, learning and music. She loved going to concerts, especially her Stevie Winwood.
She was a cancer survivor and a fierce woman who never let a challenge in life stop her from succeeding. What she wanted the most was for those she loved to be happy and cared for.
But of all the things she loved, her pumpkins Bella, Ada and James had her absolute heart. She loved being a grandmother and poured all of her love into her grandchildren. She wanted to spend all of her time with them - playing games, doing arts and crafts, going apple picking, searching for the perfect pumpkins, trips to the farm, cook outs and of course, cuddles and watching movies. She spoiled them and had a blast doing it.
Peggy is survived by her favorite daughter, Nicole, and husband Eric Whelan of Peabody, MA and her three cherished grandchildren; Arabella, Ada and James. And of course, her good boy Sammy puppy. She is also survived by sisters Catherine Moloney and husband Dennis; Barbara Mutascio- Sorocco and her husband David; and brother Richard Romolo along with many loving nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers John & Robert Romolo, and sisters Ann Perante and Teresa Romolo.
Family and friends are invited to attend Peggy’s calling hours to be held on Thursday, October 24th from 4-8pm at George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, MA. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, October 25, at 9:30am followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:30am. Her burial will follow at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA.
