he family of Jeffrey Scott Malone, Rutland, MA, is saddened to announce the unexpected passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Jeffrey was born in Camden, NJ, on November 15, 1960, to Judith (MacNichol) & Edward C. Malone. Jeffrey grew up in Magnolia, NJ and Sterling, MA, graduating from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA where he played on the Varsity Ice Hockey team. As a youth in NJ, Jeffrey was on Ice Hockey teams traveling as far away as Quebec, Canada and throughout the east coast. He attended Worcester State in Worcester, MA and enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. While working for NEC as a Information Technology Instructor he met the love of his life and best friend, Kathy. They would marry on October 18, 1986. Jeffrey’s career included Simplex as a Senior IT Instructor for technical support personnel, and Jabil Electronic Manufacturing where he provided guidance on team activity through his leadership and support towards corporate goals. Jeffrey loved to cook, go fishing, being on the Cape, playing his guitar, working on his 25-year-old Mustang, and exhibiting an amazing and creative talent as an artist and craftsman who easily could draw up plans for superb home projects and renovations. Jeffrey & Kathy had a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace in nature and joy in camping. Later in life he was proud of his four grandchildren.
Jeffrey will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Katherine Malone, and cherished daughters Stefania Kate (Malone) Desjardins (Michael) in St. Cloud, FL and Chelsea Rose Malone, Worcester, MA. He is the precious son of Judith Malone of Calabash, NC, and the late Edward C. Malone. He is survived by his brother, Craig Malone (Elizabeth) of Lansdowne, VA who has many loving memories of the adventures shared with his brother in sports, outdoor activities, cars, technology, and numerous other interests. His special grandchildren are Noah, Callie & Austin of St. Cloud, FL and Madison of Rutland, MA. And, his favorite Aunt, Suzanne (MacNichol) Bradshaw of Murrells Inlet, SC, and cousins Todd Bradshaw (Elizabeth) of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Kathleen (Malone) Dorning (Stephen) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, niece Kelly Bellgraph (Logan) of Michigan, and Caitlyn (Malone) Tomso (Nicholas) and nephew Nicholas Malone. Jeffrey has numerous extended family and was fortunate to have had some exceptional close friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Burton & Doris MacNichol, and Henrietta Malone Hogan, and favored Uncle, Barry Bradshaw.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to the St. Vincent’s Hospital, Worcester, MA and the ICU staff at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA for their care and compassion. The family has honored Jeffrey’s wishes as he was cremated and no services will be held. Jeffrey will forever be in our hearts.
