CHICOPEE – Claire T. (Guertin) Therrien, 97, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, September 16, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at the Mont Marie Health Care Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born on November 23, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Lucia (Pelletier) Guertin. She furthered her education and was one of the first women to graduate from the Hampden School of Pharmacy in Willimansett. She was the owner of Midway and Center Pharmacies. She was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. She was involved in many religious organizations. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Therrien who was Called Home on April 15, 2012. They were married on May 27, 1950 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with nearly 62 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving and devoted children, Darryl Therrien, and Lise Gill and her husband, David, all of Chicopee, Joie Pavelcsyk and her husband, John, of Feeding Hills, and Adele Provost and her husband, Larry, of Chicopee; her 16 grandchildren; her 23 great-grandchildren; her great great grandson; her dear sister-in-law, Juliette Guertin of Chicopee; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Albert Guertin and Armand Guertin. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
