Charles "Chuck" W. Scully of Hingham, MA, died peacefully with his family and friends on September 6th, 2024. Chuck spent his younger years in Madison, NJ, St. Louis, MO, New Canaan, CT, and then back home to Hingham. Chuck was a much loved and valued 30 year employee of The Talbots, both in the Hingham and Lakeville locations. He exemplified kindness, tenacity, devotion to family and friends, courage and a fine sense of humor as he faced overwhelming personal tragedy.
At age 11, he suffered a massive brain tumor and was diagnosed with a short life span. After an eventual 12 hour operation, Chuck was determined to experience every "bucket list" opportunity into his life. A few of these included owning go-carts, Harley Davidsons, horses, boats and waterskis, and junk cars. His 50th birthday was celebrated by skydiving.
Chuck’s later years were with his Mother at Lincon School Apartments in Hingham, and then at his Hyannis home run by CSA, where dedicated caregivers support brain injured residents. Chuck and 3 other residents received 24 hour
devoted loving care.
Chuck joins his late father, Charles W. Scully, Sr. and his two baby brothers, Timothy and Mark in heaven. He is survived by his loving and devoted Mother, Susan A. Kiley and Sean M. Scully, both of Hingham.
A celebration of Chuck's Life, will be held on October 25th, 2024 at 11 O'clock at the First Baptist Church of Hingham, 85 Main Street Hingham, MA at the corner of Main and Elm.
