MACPHERSON, LORRAINE DORIS (NEE NEWELL) June 11, 1927 - August 30, 2024.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorraine Doris (aka Lorrie, aka Dot) on August 30, 2024, in her 97th year. Lorraine passed peacefully in her sleep. We have all lost a wonderful woman and Heaven has gained an amazing angel.
Loving and devoted wife of the deceased Neil Daniel MacPherson, of South Boston, 2013, happily married for sixty (60) years. Survived by Lorraine Doris MacPherson, of Hyde Park, MA, Cheryl Ann MacPherson-Mahoney & her husband Joseph F. Mahoney of Norwood, MA, Neil Daniel MacPherson, II of South Boston, MA and Joseph Norman MacPherson and his wife Lynne of Marshfield, MA. Grandmother of Derek Joseph MacPherson and his wife Caitlyn of Worcester, MA, Daniel Joseph Mahoney, of Norwood, MA, Korey Barton MacPherson of Marshfield, MA and Brandon Michael MacPherson of Malden, MA. Great grandmother of two (2) beautiful girls, Hayden Elizabeth MacPherson and Raelyn Marie MacPherson of Worcester, MA.
Born and raised in Cambridge, Lorraine met her long-time spouse while working at Jordan Marsh, a long-time active member of the St. Matthew and the Redeemer Episcopal Church Lorraine was a steadfast, strong and determined woman who defiantly beat multiple cancers with the same strength, grace and dignity which was her style throughout her life.
Her family was her greatest joy, she was deeply proud of her children and grandchildren, her warm and infectious laugh will be remembered by all who knew her, her generous spirit and nurturing nature touched the lives of many and will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know and love her.
A visitation on Friday Sept 6 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a funeral service, at Saint Peters Episcopal Church, 838 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139. Interment Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
