Margaret Hale (1949 – 2024)
Margaret Elaine Hale, beloved mother of 2, Cynthia Barrett, 47 of Weymouth, MA and Thomas Gendrachi, Jr. 52 of Pfafftown, NC, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Margie is survived by her daughter Cynthia Hale Barrett and her partner, Jason Thomas Kravetz, her son Thomas Ernest Gendrachi, Jr. and his wife, Andrea Fermo Gendrachi, her grandchildren, Reilly Maureen Barrett, Cady Mairéad Barrett, Tadgh Edward Barrett, Dylan Thomas Gendrachi and Lia Fermo Gendrachi, her step grandchildren Zachary Kenneth Kravetz and Quinn Harrison Kravetz. Margie was born in Ashland, NJ to Thelma and John Hale and was the second of 9 children, including older sister, Tracey and younger siblings, John Jr., Thomas, Jeffrey, Steven, Edward, Joseph and Sharon.
Margie, a loving and supportive mother who went back to school later in life to become a teacher, earned her bachelor's degree at age 39 and her master’s degree soon after. Former students learned of Margie’s illness and wrote countless letters recalling Margie as a teacher who loved her students dearly and who inspired so many. Margie had a soft spot for her furry grandchildren too-, Rosie and Edward, and treated each like the valuable family member they are. Margie, AKA Gammy, will be missed dearly. Her wonderful spirit will continue to dance in our hearts forever. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
