James B. Ritchie Sr., passed away on August 26th, 2024, at the age of 79, while residing at John Scott Nursing Home in Braintree. He had been a resident of the nursing home since 2014 after suffering a stroke.
Jim is survived by his ex-wife, Elaine Ritchie of Braintree; his children, James Ritchie and his wife Meredith of Pembroke, and Dawn Ramsey and her husband Brian of Holbrook. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Bella, and Landon.
Jim spent many years working at the Fore River Shipyard before transitioning into the paving industry, where he worked until his retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed staying active by driving a cab in Quincy.
Jim had a deep passion for saltwater fishing, often spending his free time fishing for stripers and blues in the waters of Quincy, Hingham, Hull, and the surrounding towns. His love for the sea and fishing was a cherished part of his life.
