Hovagimian, Edna A. of Dorchester, Milton, Stoughton, and Walpole, MA, passed away on August 22, 2024. She is survived by her niece Maria Wind and family (N.J.); George Donabed and family (MA); Dr. Sargon Donabed and family (MA); the Asadourian and Kashish family (N.J.); Albert Melikian (R.I.); the Haig family (CA); Hermine Adamian and family (MA); Susan Covo and family (MA); as well as close friends Frieda Wisialko (MA), Bruce McLay (MA), and Reverend Michael J. Godderz (MA).
Edna was predeceased by her parents, Hagop and Mary Hovagimian; her sisters, Arpi Hovagimian, Sona Hovagimian, and Rose Hovagimian Salogiannis; and many cherished friends, neighbors, and colleagues. She was also the aunt of the late Demetre Salogiannis.
Edna graduated from Fisher College in Boston, MA, and enjoyed a long career as an X-ray technician, practicing primarily in Massachusetts but also in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in Florida. She was an active member of several book clubs and knitting groups, had a passion for creating Russian icons, and generously supported numerous charities with both her time and resources.
Graveside services will be held at Mount Auburn Cemetery on Friday, September 6, at 12:00 PM EST. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
